A short description of a book, film, or other product written for promotional purposes.
Looking at the construction of narrative, these imaginary blurbs reflect the complicity between reading, writing and understanding. The work revolves around pretense and deception, the manipulation of perception to alter thoughts and feelings through either lies or a witty dexterity.
The work may involve concepts similar to propaganda, distraction and concealment. The written blurbs act as a back bone or foundation of pseudo-fictional novels that may involve the audience participation and perceptiveness.
In many cases it is difficult to distinguish deception from providing unintentionally wrong information. One of the reasons for this is that a person or an entire organization may be self-deceived.
